Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extensions handle information. It applies to all Edtech.Training browser extensions listed on the Chrome Web Store.
1. Introduction
Edtech.Training ("we", "us") builds small Chrome extensions designed for use in schools by educators, administrators, and students. We are committed to protecting privacy and to being transparent about what data our extensions access.
2. Information we collect
Our extensions are designed to collect as little information as possible. Unless explicitly stated in the description of a specific extension on the Chrome Web Store, our extensions do not collect personally identifiable information.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information.
- We do not track browsing history across sites.
- We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
3. How we use information
Any information accessed by an extension is used solely to provide the feature described in that extension's listing. Where an extension stores user preferences, those preferences are stored locally in the browser using Chrome's storage API and are not transmitted to our servers.
5. Data storage and security
Where data is stored at all, it is stored locally in the user's browser. Users can clear this data at any time by removing the extension or clearing browser storage.
6. Permissions used by our extensions
Each extension requests only the Chrome permissions required for its core functionality. Common permissions and their purpose:
- storage — to remember user preferences locally.
- activeTab — to act on the current tab when invoked by the user.
- scripting — to apply features to the page the user is on.
- host permissions — limited to sites where the feature is needed; see each extension's listing for specifics.
7. Children's privacy & school context
Our extensions are intended to be safe for use in classrooms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We design our extensions with student privacy regulations such as FERPA and COPPA in mind. Schools and administrators remain responsible for deciding which extensions are appropriate to deploy in their environment.
8. Your rights and choices
Because our extensions do not collect personal information, there is typically no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You can uninstall any extension at any time from chrome://extensions.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
